My name is Yu Rha Choi and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker residing in Southern California. I am a Korean-American daughter of immigrant parents who, like many others, experienced various hurdles trying to achieve the American dream, which in turn caused layers of intergenerational trauma and brokenness. I, myself, learned through first-hand experience of struggling and engaging in deep inner work to achieve peace with my intersectional identity and heal from my experiences.
I received my Master's degree in Social Welfare at the University of California, Los Angeles and have gained several years of experience working in various settings including community mental health. Through these experiences, I realized my deep passion for supporting AAPI individuals explore their roots, navigate life's uncertainties, strengthen their identity, build healthy relationships, and reclaim their narrative to find healing and empowerment.
I'd hit snooze and sleep in a bit, cook my family an elaborate brunch, do some activities together like a puzzle or some board games, maybe walk around Target for fun then get some fried chicken for dinner! Yum!
